The MINING MUSEUM , opened in May 2004 in the historic County Stone Garage, contains artifacts and equipment used by Nederland area miners. Ore samples, machines, tools, photographs, newspapers, catalogs and maps record our mining heritage. Historic photos and mining memorabilia are offered at its Gift Shop.

Gold, silver and tungsten mining mark Nederland's landscape and heritage. The Mining Museum displays ores and mine trams, hand and pneumatic drills, steam shovels, pictures, blacksmithing tools, maps and documents from the 1860's to the present. Walk through exhibits at your own pace. Learn about hard rock mining, the tungsten boom, and present-day conservation techniques.

The historic GILLASPIE HOUSE , built in 1907, displays clothing, accessories, and furnishings found in typical early Nederland homes.

How to Get Here

From Denver : (Approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes): Take I25 north to US36 west to Boulder. At Canyon Blvd go west into the mountains towards Nederland (turns into CO119) As you enter Nederland, the museum is located at the traffic circle.

From Boulder : (Approximately 30 minutes): Take Canyon/CO119 into the mountains towards Nederland As you enter Nederland, the museum is located at the traffic circle

From Black Hawk : (Approximately 25 minutes) Take CO119 north at the west end of Black Hawk Go through the town of Nederland The museum is located at the traffic circle

From Estes Park : (Approximately 40 minutes) Take CO7 to CO72. Take CO72 east towards Nederland The museum is located at the traffic circle
